ACH Universal > Accounts > Switching Accounts

Overview

All editions of ACH Universal allow a minimum of five accounts to be created for your use.  Each account provides a logical separation for your organization's data.  Follow the steps below to learn how to change from one account to another.

Required

You have created at least two organization accounts (remember: you should never import live data into the Sample account).

Steps

Scenario: ABC Corp. creates two accounts, Payroll and Checking, in ACH Universal.  After importing and transmitting the daily records into the Payroll account, they want to switch to the Checking account and import those records.

Switching accounts

In the upper right of the main screen is a dropdown box that contains the names of all available accounts.  For ABC Corp, this box has Payroll, Checking, and Sample.  Change the box to the account you wish to use.  ACH Universal will automatically load the appropriate settings for the new account.

An alternative for the Desktop platform only is to select File from the main menu, then Open/Select Account and browse to the appropriately named .brd file (for example, Checking.brd switches to the Checking account).

On SQL Server only: selecting Open/Select Account allows you to either switch to an account that has been loaded into the catalog (made accessible on this workstation) or allows you to create an account for access to an existing database.  See LINK Adding existing account
