in a SQL environment
"Excellent service. Your customer service representative helped us from setup to transmission. He followed up to make sure everything was working as expected."- FrameCon
Overview
Backup your databases.
Install the new version of Treasury Software and
connect to the server.
Rollout - Install the new version on the other
workstations.
Enter new license codes on the production workstations.
Notes:
--You do not need to uninstall the old version of Treasury Software. The two versions can run concurrently on any computer.
However, if you uninstall the old version after installing the new version, you will need to repair the new installation.
Therefore - either
a. Leave both versions on the workstation (recommended)
or
b. Uninstall the older version prior to installing the new one
Backup your databases.
1. If using ACH Universal or Bank Positive Pay, first create output
files for any untransmitted records. Exit the software.
2. Backup the databases per your corporate procedures.
Install the new version of Treasury Software on a test machine
and connect to the server.
3. Download the latest version of Treasury Software from the link
below and save on a network drive.
http://www.treasurysoftware.com/download.aspx
4. Install the software on a workstation
5. Start the software. From the 'Welcome New User' screen, select
the application you are using (ACH, Bank Reconciliation or Positive
Pay).
6. From the main menu select 'File', 'Migrate to SQL'. Point to
the server and complete the wizard. Exit and reenter the software.
Note: If you are unsure as to the exact server name, go to a workstation
(or the older version) that has Treasury Software up and running. Enter into an account.
From the main menu select File > Maintenance > 'SQL' tab.
This will display the server name.
7. Upon reentering the software, the system will prompt you to update
the 'Sample' account to the current version. Follow the prompts
and allow it to do so.
8. From the main menu select 'File', 'New', 'Add an Existing Account'.
Select the account(s) in use by Treasury Software. In a similar
manner, you will be prompted to update these to the current version
as well. Again, follow the prompts and allow it to do so.
9. Have your primary user confirm the data in the upgraded accounts
from the test workstation.
Rollout - Install the new version of Treasury Software on production
workstations.
Repeat the steps below for each client workstation which needs the
new version of Treasury Software.
10. Perform steps 4, 5, 6, 8 from the section above to install
the software.
11. Enter the new license codes on each workstation.
Enter into an account. From the main menu select File > Enter
License Codes
Note: For certain minor releases, for example - going from 2008.1.1
to 2008.1.2 a new license code may not be required. Please check
with Treasury Software in advance.
Tips:
The #1 issue in any upgrade is security.
--Make sure that you have a system administrator login ID before
starting
--Create/arrange for logins for all users
--if your users will want access to the old version (and you kept it), make a shortcut to c:\Program Files\Treasury Software\[version]\BRCOM.exe
and
--don't rollout to the users until you have fully tested the new
system.
Congratulations!
